Child Sponsorship

Our child sponsorship program enables you to welcome a child into your heart and watch that child grow year by year under our watchful care. Most children in this remote region of Guatemala have little opportunity for schooling beyond the third grade. Many suffer from poor health and inadequate nutrition and housing. Your sponsorship will bring happiness and hope to a child who lives under such impoverished conditions.

How the Program Works

Letters, photos, and drawings from “your” child, and regular reports from Adopt-a-Village will expand your experience and knowledge of where and how he or she lives. The funds you pay on behalf of your sponsored child go toward educational and health programs in the villages. However, every sponsor may arrange to supplement the sponsorship with small gifts or needed items for the sponsored child and her family, such as food, medical and dental checkups, clothing, and school supplies. Some sponsors visit their children, a truly memorable experience for both sponsor and children.

How to Become a Sponsor

You can select a child to sponsor or have a child assigned to you. Sponsorships are $225 annually or $60 quarterly.

Testimonials

“Luis’ letters bring us so much pleasure. Glenn’s trip to see him allowed us to realize how well Adopt-a-Village looks after all the children.” –Patti and Glenn Barber, Medina, Ohio

“What is important to us is that we feel we can connect so directly to our sponsored child. Our letters and gifts are hand-carried by Adopt-a-Village directly to Ana.” –JeRoy and Lorraine Carlson, Burnsville, Minnesota
