Medical Emergency Fund

In this remote mountainous region of Guatemala, there is no virtually access to health care services. There are no hospitals, clinics, doctors, or nurses. Women have little or no aid in childbirth and as a result, avoidable deaths of the mother and child are common. Children die of preventable diseases, and laborers needlessly die from injuries that go untreated. Accessing health care typically entails a three- to four-hour drive to the nearest town. The Medical Emergency Fund helps children and parents who become gravely ill. Donations enable Adopt-a-Village to transport patients to medical help, fund the treatment of life-threatening illnesses and injuries, and help pay for necessary medicines.

How You Can Help
