Meet Two of Our Students

Meet two of our students at the Maya Jaguar Institute – one from the middle school and one from the high school.


Angelina lives in the village of Maya Jaguar with her mother and father, two brothers, and three sisters. The family speaks the Q'anjob'al language, one of three distinct Mayan languages spoken in the region. She is in her second year of middle school.


Sebastián is in the first year of high school. He lives with his mother and father, four sisters, and three sisters. His village speaks the distinct Mam Mayan language.
